Joseph Gordon-Levitt

It's not unusual to come up with a list of qualities that potential dates are expected to fulfill, but Joseph Gordon-Levitt says to throw it out.
The Don Jon star, writer and director, 32, says that comparing your date to your wish list may cause you to miss out on their more subtle qualities.
"Those are doomed because you're guaranteed to not be paying attention to the actual person," Gordon-Levitt says on Thursday's edition of TakePart Live. "No person is going to fit into a quantified list."
"But look, I'm not gonna say that I'm completely guiltless in this. We all have our lists," he adds. (Gordon-Levitt is clearly doing some measuring; he recently said that his costar Scarlett Johansson's sex appeal "is just off the charts.")
More advice from Gordon-Levitt: Don't compare your relationship to a movie.
"Jon, the character I play, is constantly comparing his love and sex life to pornography," Levitt explains, "And Scarlett, her character, is constantly comparing her love life to these romantic Hollywood movies, and so if you're constantly comparing your real life to stuff you've seen on the screen, you're always going to be disappointed, because real life is not as simple as that."
"I think real life is a lot more beautiful," he adds. "And look, I love movies, but even the best movie can never be the same as real life."
