"I wish her the best in all that she does, but [we're] just moving in totally two different directions, just totally not on the same page at all about anything," the former reality dad says of his ex-wife in an interview with Oprah Winfrey airing Sunday.
They are technically co-parenting their eight kids, but communication is minimal, Jon says, and it's not healthy for the children.
"At this point, there is no cooperation, there is nothing," says Gosselin, who has been living in a cabin in the woods in Pennsylvania and waiting tables to make ends meet. "There's two different totally parenting styles, two different totally everythings. Which is a shame, because it affects me, but it really affects my children."
Kate has been struggling, too, of course, but at this point, neither is making things easier for the other.
"I don't really have a relationship with Kate. It's more texting, custodial stuff," says Jon. "I don't really know what goes on in Kate's house, and she really doesn't know what goes on in my house."
The all-new episode of "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" airs Sunday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, and will also feature Michael Bolton, Soleil Moon Frye and Lynda Carter.
