Michael Morris and his wife, actress Mary McCormack, appear in step as they leave an office building in Los Angeles, days after the Smash director was spotted kissing the canceled show's star, Katharine McPhee.
Morris appears to be wearing a wedding ring.
A source has told PEOPLE that McPhee – who has been separated for six months from husband Nick Cokas – is about the kissing photos being published and "didn't mean for anyone to be hurt."
"This is a very hard time for her," the source also said.
Morris and McCormack – who's appeared on In Plain Sight, The West Wing and most recently on NBC's Welcome to the Family – have three young children.
An agent for Morris and a rep for McCormack both declined to comment at the time when the kissing photos were published
