Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones Are 'Not Back Together,' Source Says

While there's still hope for the marriage of Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, the couple are still "taking a break," a source close to them tells PEOPLE.

"They're not back together," says the source. "People are getting ahead of themselves."

After winning an Emmy for his role in Behind the Candelabra, Douglas, 69, returned to New Mexico where he is filming The Reach, while Zeta-Jones, 44, has been home in Bedford, N.Y. with their kids, Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10.

Though the pair are still talking – and both wearing their wedding rings – they're not spending time together.

In fact, the stars, who share the same Sept. 25 birthday, spent their big day apart this year.

Douglas had dinner at an Outback Steakhouse in New Mexico, and Zeta-Jones, who was recently honored by the NYC Dance Alliance as an Ambassador for the Arts, celebrated with a fish and chips dinner in New York with her kids.
