Pennsatucky, is that you? There was no mistaking Taryn Manning for her Orange Is the New Black character when Manning hit the red carpet at the International Emmys Tuesday night sporting a brand new, bright platinum do and super-glam makeup to match.
It was a pretty big switch for Manning, who just a few weeks ago showed off a new, even darker brunette hue than the one she’s known for on Orange Is the New Black. And while she’s been blonde before, she’s never had quite this bold of a hue.

Hairstylist Michael Duenas took the credit for Manning’s major hair change-up on his Instagram, posting a photo of the star on the carpet and writing “I made @tarynmanning #blonde tonight for the #InternationalEmmys. Plus a new cut! What do you think?? @jvincentmakeup for some amazing makeup. I’m loving this shade.”
Manning herself seemed a little anxious about the new look before Duenas lopped off her locks, posting a pic of her newly blonde hair with the caption “Experiment tonight. Do blonds have more fun?! Let’s see…” But she seemed to have come around by the time she hit the red carpet — we think the Instagram below (which she captioned “Why not, life is short…”) says it all.
