Harris, who took home the Tony Award for best actor in a musical Sunday night, frequently gets up close and personal with lucky theatergoers – in the form of smooches. To keep healthy, he regularly loads up on plenty of vitamins.
"[My voice coach] has handfuls of pills that I'm supposed to be taking," he told reporters after his big win. "I keep my levels high – a lot of Vitamin C."
Added Harris, who stopped the Tonys show by performing a number in full regalia and getting really cozy with Sting: "It's important to be preemptive – preventive work."
Harris plays an East German transgender rocker looking for love in the revival of the cult hit that originally opened off-Broadway in 1998 and was made famous on both stage and screen by actor John Cameron Mitchell. The show raked in four Tonys – so Harris won't be slowing down any time soon.
In addition to vitamins, he's clocking in plenty of cardio, drinking liquids and attending physical therapy.
"I'm trying to ride above before I get sick," he says. "I can't get sick."
