World Cup fans will no longer see the singer perform with rapper Pitbull and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte at the event's opening ceremony Thursday, FIFA announced, according to various reports.
Lopez, 44, has cancelled her plan to perform this year's official World Cup song, "We Are One (Ole Ola)," due to unspecified production issues, FIFA officials said.
"We can confirm the accuracy of FIFA's statement," a rep for Lopez tells PEOPLE. "Regretfully [she] will not be attending this year's World Cup opening ceremonies."
The cancellation is not connected to her split from Smart.
Pitbull and Leitte will perform the song without Lopez for the finale of the opening ceremony, which artistic director Daphne Cornez says "is a tribute to Brazil and its treasures: nature, people, football."
