Call it a case of the Apple jitters.

One Perth, Australia, man – the first in his city to be rewarded with the new iPhone 6 – eagerly opened his box to show it off to a television reporter and quickly dropped it on the concrete, Forbes reports.

Jack Cooksey joined many around the world to embrace Apple's new smartphone launch, but his big reveal immediately got out of hand (and was accompanied by some NSFW language) as the new tech toy fell to the street in a fumble caught on camera.

"The poor guy," an off-camera broadcaster responds to the shock, even as Cooksey's phone appeared to be unharmed as he lifted it off the pavement.

Elsewhere in Australia, tech blogger David Rahimi and girlfriend Jasmine Juan received a noteworthy distinction – flying in from California to become the first iPhone 6 owners in the world after they pre-ordered the device and picked it up in person in Sydney, Forbes noted.
