Sadly, Randy Couture and Karina Smirnoff began the night knowing they were in jeopardy. Based on scores from viewers and the judges last week, the duo became the third couple to leave the dance floor.
"It's been a great experience, putting myself out there and trying something new," said Couture.
Besides a roof-raising appearance by guest judge Kevin Hart, lots of other fun surprises happened underneath the mirror ball Monday. Here were the scores:
Couture and Smirnoff. The couple paid tribute to the Rocky franchise with a paso doble that included lots of high kicks and a few air punches. But some of the judges didn't like the fighter's timing. "What happened to that strong charming leading man from week one?" asked Judge Julianne Hough. "I'm all for energy, but you need shaping and timing," added Judge Bruno Tonioli. Score: 26 out of 40
Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson. Despite having a partner that whines about having to carry her partner's "fat ass," Ribeiro's quickstep to the Austin Powers soundtrack was smashing, baby. "Doctor Evil is very pleased," said Tonioli. "You murdered that, brother," added Hart. Score: 32
Betsey Johnson and Tony Dovolani. The designer got to show off her mad splits in a contemporary – and very flexible – ditty to the Ghost theme. "You have courage beyond belief," said Judge Carrie Ann Inaba. "You tell that 21-year-old girl that I just saw that I got the hots for her," added Hart. Score: 29
Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev. Predictably, the couple performed the cha-cha to the "Power of Love" from Back to the Future – and her gams looked out of this world. "It was the power of Lea on splendid display," said Tonioli. Score: 31
Michael Waltrip and Emma Slater. In a shout-out to Robin Hood, the race car driver's waltz wasn't half bad – despite the bad hat. "That was your best dance ever," Hough said. "I saw you pointed at me. You wanted to win me over," said Hart. "It worked!" Score: 28
Antonio Sabato, Jr. and Cheryl Burke . The duo that started the night in jeopardy fox-trotted their way into Hart's good graces. "You executed, brother," he said. Score: 29
Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas. In an ode to Up, the couple performed an adorable waltz that ended with the Duck Dynasty gal floating away. "So far tonight, that was my favorite dance," said Inaba. "Totally and utterly charmed," admitted Tonioli. Score: 32
Jonathan Bennett and Allison Holker. The couple's Great Gatsby tango was crisp and smooth. "I was wrapped into your moment," said Hart. Score: 32
Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy. A brilliant send-up to West Side Story resulted in a jazz number that blew away the judges. "I felt like I was watching a full-on Broadway show," said Hough. "This is your star-making turn," added Tonioli. Score: 40
Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd. The original stoner rocked in a three-piece suit while dancing a smashing Argentine tango. "You are the real deal," said Inaba. Score: 34
Bethany Mota and Derek Hough. The tribute to Singing in the Rain was a jazzy mix of open-and-closing umbrellas and rain onstage! "Mission impossible? Mission complete," said Inaba. "You literally didn't miss a step," Hough added. Score: 40
