From her days in beauty pageants, to looking flawless on the red carpet and on stage (with all the makeup that entails!), Demi Lovato knows just how important taking care of her skin is. Now, the pop star is sharing that knowledge with the rest of us with the launch of a new skincare line Devonne by Demi, available this December.

“Ever since I was a young girl, I have always been about skincare for some reason,” she told PEOPLE. “When you take time to do things for yourself like care for your skin, you feel the most confident.”
So Lovato, 22, teamed up with beauty experts and put together a range of products including a hydrating protecting mist, cleanser and moisturizing primer. The starter kit (whose proceeds will benefit the Lovato Treatment Scholarship) starts at $29.99 for a monthly subscription.
Of the three, she says the sweet lemon and peppermint moisturizer is her favorite right now. “It’s so hydrating and smells incredible,” she says. “And not only is it a moisturizer but it has primer in it to help my makeup last throughout the day.”

Most important to Lovato, who kicks off her World Tour on Saturday, was that she create something not only effective but also empowering. “I am trying to help young girls and women all over the world love and accept themselves when they look in the mirror,” says the singer who struggled with her body image in the past. “I can guarantee that if you take care of your skin and use products that work, you’ll find that confidence.”
