It was toddlers and tiaras on Ashlee Simpson‘s wedding day! The bride was accompanied by son Bronx, 5, as she walked down the aisle to new groom Evan Ross, while a similarly sparkly-tressed Jessica, 33, played matron of honor while daughter Maxwell, 2, and Ace, 1, served as flower girl and ring bearer. And both sisters were radiant in pristine white gowns as they waited for a sudden rain shower to pass during Ashlee’s Sunday nuptials.

Ashlee selected a long-sleeve lace crop top to go with her full lace skirt. She wore her ombré hair loose and wavy, accented with a super-romantic headband consisting of twisted chains and golden laurels, though she kept other jewelry to a minimum (though of course, her engagement ring was statement-making enough). And though no bride ever wants rain on her wedding day, the soggy ground gave Simpson an excuse to show off her shoes: A funky bohemian pair of sandals with gold leaf detail around the straps.

All of the bridesmaids echoed Ashlee’s elegant, bohemian look, each wearing her own white gown with loose, wavy, jewel-adorned tresses. Jessica sported a lace-trimmed slinky white column dress and a Neil Lane tiara in her long blonde locks. And Lane gave us the scoop on the nearly 200-year-old bauble: “Jessica had considered wearing a diamond hair piece on her own wedding day and she adored this tiara at the time. She got the opportunity to wear it in Ashlee’s wedding! All good things come full circle, and I heard she was thrilled.”
The feel echoed Jessica’s own “ethereal” bridesmaids vibe from her wedding earlier this summer, with each girl wearing a true-to-her-own-style gown and messy-romantic dos. But the overall effect was definitively Ashlee — right down to the oh-so-stylish white-tux-clad groomsmen.
Do you love the vibe? Do you like the idea that each girl picks out her own dress? Tell us in the comments!
