The Vampire Diaries and The Twilight Saga stars were spotted getting close at a Studio City, California, farmers market on Sunday.
The pair appeared affectionate and at ease with one another as they grabbed coffee and other market favorites.
Somerhalder, 35, was dressed down in black sweatpants, gray T-shirt and a ball cap. Reed, 26, appeared to be going to or from a workout in sneakers, black patterned leggings and a neon yellow tank.
Their reps have not commented.

Reed announced her divorce from American Idol musician Paul McDonald in March, providing an exclusive statement to PEOPLE.
"After much consideration, Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald are ending their marriage. They have been living separately for the past six months due to work obligations," their rep said. "They will continue to share their love of music, and are still working on their debut album, I'm Not Falling, releasing in 2014. They remain best friends and look forward to their continued journey together.
In January, Somerhalder joked about his split with costar Nina Dobrevat the People's Choice Awards. The couple called it quits in 2013 after having dated for several years.
