Efron, 26, is known to flaunt his rock-hard body (case in point: every other scene in Neighbors ), and his Italian vacation with kissing buddy Michelle Rodriguez was no exception. But the ab-tastic actor took it to the next level Monday, stripping off his top while riding a horse through splashing water.
To be fair, Putin started the trend in 2009, when the Russian president was photographed on his steed sans shirt during a Siberian camping trip. Like Efron, Putin, 61, is known to bare his chest while completing a host of macho tasks – fishing, swimming and just generally looking rugged, to name a few – and even inspired The Economist to Photoshop the shirtless leader onto a military tank for a tongue-in-cheek cover in March.
But Bieber, 20, can really be credited with bringing sexy horseback rides back. The pop star got his mind off his piling legal problems and off-and-on-again flame Selena Gomez with a shirtless trail ride of his own in May at a ranch outside of Los Angeles. What he lacked in clothing he made up for in accessories, wearing a gold chain, watch, aviators and fedora as he took the reins.
