Rene Russo, who rocked a toga opposite Chris Hemsworth in the superhero franchise, proved she's just as stunning in a little black dress at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 5.
The actress, 60, was at the fest promoting her new thriller, Nightcrawler, in which she costars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal.
"Rene, you look great!" shouted one fan during opening remarks from director Dan Gilroy – who happens to be Russo's real-life husband.
Shooting the film together, "I was like, 'You've gotta eat! Did you have your protein shake? You're exhausted; I can tell,' " the actress tells PEOPLE.
"I was like a mother hen," she adds. "I wasn't concerned about him not being a director or his talent or anything ... I was concerned about his staying healthy and nourished because he would just forget to eat. So that was my role: Keep him healthy."
Gilroy, 55, says working with his wife on the film he wrote and directed was a comfort.
"She was a rock for me! I loved having her on set," he says. "I knew I could always talk to her and get her opinions about things. We're very close creatively."
