Neil Patrick Harris will host the 2015 Oscars, the How I Met Your Mother actor announced Wednesday.
Harris, 41, Tweeted a link to a video showing him answering his iPhone with a firm "I'm in."
The camera pans to a handwritten "NPH's Bucket List" full of checked-off items like "Win a Tony Award," "Rap with Snoop Dog," "Get married" and "Write a book." The last, circled task on his list? "Host the Oscars."
Academy producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron confirmed the news.
"We are thrilled to have Neil host the Oscars," they said in a statement. "We have known him his entire adult life, and we have watched him explode as a great performer in feature films, television and stage. To work with him on the Oscars is the perfect storm, all of his resources and talent coming together on a global stage."
As for the Gone Girl actors's other to-dos, his memoir Choose Your Own Autobiography hit shelves Tuesday, and he wed longtime love David Burtka in September (the pair are fathers to 4-year-old twins).
"I love it, it's great nomenclature to be able to call David my husband instead of sounding like we're cowboys and calling him my partner," he joked to PEOPLE. "And I get to wear the ring on my other hand! So one callus is wearing off, and one's starting to get worn."
The former Hedwig and the Angry Inch actor has hosted Broadway's Tony Awards twice and led the Emmys this year. Ellen DeGeneres had a successful (and selfie-record-breaking) run as last year's Oscars host.
The 87th Academy Awards air Feb. 22 on ABC.
