Mike Sobel, weatherman for the Global Edmonton Morning News, learned one important thing about the brindle mastiff mix serving as his one-time cohost: "Ripple likes to play."
As Ripple's short but glorious TV news career progressed, Sobel learned a bit more. For example: Ripple does not want to sit. Ripple can chew through his leash. And finally, Ripple really does not care about the Alberta weather forecast.
Sobel is as professional as one can be, but then again he's had prior experience with uncooperative dogs on-air.
Ripple appeared on-air to promote animal adoption with the Edmonton Humane Society – see his profile here – and he did a good job conveying that he's looking for a home that can tolerate high levels of playfulness.
The Alberta weather forecast, in case you were distracted, called for cold. Lots of cold.
