Aside from the episode's jaw-dropping plot twists, there was one wardrobe change that still has folks talking.
Toward the end, Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) makes a shocking discovery that links her husband to a murdered sorority girl. This then called for a little me-time.
After running a hot bath and watching The Colbert Report, she takes off her wig, lashes and makeup to reveal her – and Davis's – natural side beneath.
It's a scene Davis thought up all on her own. According to a Tweet by the show's writer-producer Peter Nowalk: "In our very first convo," he wrote, Davis "pitched a scene where we see Annalise take off her wig." He hashtagged it inspiring, breathtaking, gifted.
This isn't the first time audiences have seen Davis's natural 'do. The actress rocked an edgy chic look for a 2012 L.A. Times Magazine cover and received rave style reviews for her hair at that year's Oscars.
In 2011, Davis told PEOPLE that daughter Genesis used to get weirded out by her hair changes. "The first time I took my wig off with her, she was like, 'Nooo!' She actually did that," said Davis.
Thursday night's episode, however, had fans screaming "Yes!"
