It was the first night of semi-finals for 12 ‘America’s Got Talent’ acts on Aug. 27 and the competition is intensifying. The fight for the top spot is on!
Week after week, we were floored by incredible quarter-final performances on America’s Got Talent. The semi-finals have finally arrived and we couldn’t be more excited. There’s no room for error on the stage and the judges definitely took a criticism up a notch. Take a look at HollywoodLife.com’s top five favorite performance from the first 12 semi-finalists!
Top 5 Performances Of Aug. 27
Flips and turns and flying! Oh my! These dancer-acrobat hybrids are crazy good. With their increasingly difficult stunts, these ladies are stepping it up each and every week. Their flexibility, agility, and ability to toss their teammates sky-high make for a heart-stopping performance. Howard Stern admired their bravery to perform such dangerous skills and thought they did an “amazing job.” Heidi Klum thought they were great and “explosive” on the stage.
4. Collins Key
It doesn’t matter what the judges say, we’re still in love with Collins Key. His semi-finals act was a tad confusing but it didn’t lack in the wow department. He once again involved the judges but also invited the audience and Twitter into his act. His act involved predicting the characteristics of a lucky lady in the audience who would receive a date if the predictions were correct. His trick went smoothly and he even accurately predicted the location of the date: Central Park! This performance may have been puzzle, but Collins has the charisma and stage presence to continue on.
Who would have thought this awkward comedian would be one of our favorite acts of all the finalists? Taylor continues to wow us with his sarcastic comedy and his adorably awkward aura. Making people laugh is effortless for him and you’re anxiously awaiting what he’ll say to make you laugh next. Let’s not forget to mention that amazing moment when Heidi licked her lips back at Taylor. Wowsers. It was the first standing ovation from Howard, who said he was “terrific.” Howie Mandel said he was “brilliantly funny” and “deserved to go on.” Touché, Howie.
2. Cami Bradley
After such an amazing performance of Cher’s “Believe” in the quarterfinals, it was going to be tough for Cami to top that song. However, she did a solid job in her rendition of the Elvis Presley classic “Can’t Help Falling In Love.” Week after week, Cami continues to draw so much emotion into her performance and it definitely sets her apart from the rest of the singers. Even though Mel B thinks Cami has an “amazing voice,” she thought the performance was a “little boring.” She was going for a more gentler performance Mel B! Give her a break! Howard took the thoughts out of our heads and said “we can’t help falling in love with you.” Ditto, Howard.
1. Forte
There was no act better to close out the night than this epic group. Forte blew us and the rest of Radio City Music Hall away with their powerful performance of Righteous Brothers’ “Unchained Melody.” Seriously, these guys are amazing. Howie declared that Forte has “solidified a career” in the music world and went so far as to say that he thinks they just sent fellow singer Jonathan Allen home! As much as we like Jonathan, Forte is on fire. The rest of semi-finalists better watch out.
So HollywoodLifers, what did YOU think of the first semi-finals performance? Which act was your favorite? Let us know!
