It’s been years since we last saw Lady Gaga sport her signature hair bow, and now we know why: It’s been lost at sea this whole time.
Last night, Gaga stepped out for dinner in North London sporting this gem of a do, which is part throwback (the bow part), and part newness, in that it’s more of the mermaid fashion she’s recently displayed in her Applause video and at the VMAs.

So what’s up with her whole Ariel-esque style theme? Lady G recently announced via Twitter that the inspiration behind her latest creation is “under the sea Boticelli-Punk,” and she was also gracious enough to provide a list of “acceptable attire” for fans to wear to her upcoming iTunes Festival performance this Sunday in London. FYI: It looks like you’ll have to go shopping at the nearest tide pool if you want to meet Gaga’s strict dress code.
But of course, as with anytime that Lady Gaga does anything, there are those who insist she’s copied the style from someone else.
