If the Oscars handed out awards for photobombing, Benedict Cumberbatch would give Jennifer Lawrence some serious competition.

On the red carpet at the Academy Awards, the Sherlock star photobombed U2 and the results are pretty much everything one could dream of, with Cumberbatch emerging behind the staidly unamused band.

Cumberbatch, who appears in the Oscar-nominated drama 12 Years a Slave, is one of the presenters at the ceremony, while U2 is nominated in the Best Original Song category for the Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom track "Ordinary Love."

Cumberbatch may not be up for an Oscar, but with this pic, he's still a winner.
