Wearing black sunglasses and a black tank (minus her wedding ring), the Twilight star, 25, looked somber as she got into her car after a workout in Los Angeles.
A rep for the actress told PEOPLE exclusively that the pair has decided to divorce after two years of marriage.
"After much consideration, Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald are ending their marriage. They have been living separately for the past six months due to work obligations," says the rep.
"They will continue to share their love of music, and are still working on their debut album, I'm Not Falling, releasing in 2014. They remain best friends and look forward to their continued journey together."
The pair met at the Red Riding Hood premiere in March 2011 and got engaged three months later.
