At the 35th anniversary gala for the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Williams and Fonda were seated next to each other (with William's wife Helen Lasichanh and, of course, his favorite hat) and appeared to thoroughly enjoy one another's company.
The unlikely duo chatted and giggled together for the majority of the evening as if they were old friends, and at times, Williams had one arm around Fonda and the other around the back of his wife's chair.
The gala featured a concert by Diana Ross, and Patricia Arquette, who was in attendance with her family, made her way to the front of the crowd so that she could film the singer's performance with her smart phone.
Also at the event, Katy Perry, Rachel Zoe, Owen Wilson, Chloë Sevigny, Dianna Agron, Ryan Seacrest, Fred Armisen, Moby, Dita Von Teese, Rose McGowan and Tim Allen.
