Michael Jackson's album cover
The King of Pop lives on – Epic Records is releasing a new Michael Jackson album.
Xscape will come out May 13 and feature eight original songs, the record company announced Monday. Epic also debuted the CD's cover art, which shows Jackson gazing out from a a futuristic, glittery costume.
The work is a collaboration between Epic's L.A. Reid and music producers like Timbaland, who has engineered hits for Justin Timberlake and
Jackson, a thirteen-time Grammy winner, died in 2009 from a deadly anesthetic while preparing for his comeback tour. He was 50.
Xscape will be available for pre-order April 1.
