When Kelly Osbourne released the above sneak peek of an upcoming MAC collaboration on her Instagram, we were psyched, but not surprised. After all, the star has spent hours studying the made-up faces of some of Hollywood’s hottest stars in her role as an E! Fashion Police commentator — and she’s known for doing some of the most fun beauty looks around.
She’s beautified to the nines (that apricot lipstick! That purple shadow!) in the preview pic, but until the June launch, she’s letting that photo speak for itself. “I am so excited as this has been years in the making,” she tells PEOPLE. “It was very important to me that my palettes worked for all skin tones, but that is all I’ll tell you!”
Osbourne opened up a bit more when we asked her about her super-glam job — namely, how on earth she manages to stand in heels for the long E! Live From the Red Carpet awards pre-show. Though she had to swap her SAG Awards heels for flip-flops this year, she has an even better plan — one she can credit to Baby Spice. “After four years of placing bets on whose feet where going to start bleeding first I have learned to walk the carpet in my heels and then change into a pair of platform sneakers, à la the Spice Girls days!” she says. “No one can see them under my dress, they keep me the right height for lighting, not to mention they are so comfortable!” (Do heels-haters Kristen Stewart and Lena Dunham know this trick?!)

She admits its hard to choose one star she’s most excited to see Sunday night, but says, “If I have to pick one girl it’s got to be Lupita [Nyong'o] — she has blown me away every time she has hit the carpet this awards season. As for the men: Pharrell Williams! He is a man that truly understands fashion and individuality. I can’t wait to see what he wears!”
So what can we expect from Osbourne on Oscars night? True to form, a super-glam manicure, which she says will be “classic and subtle but still very me … I am going to take inspiration from American Hustle!” And she promised a glimpse of the look on her just-launched website, KellyOsbourne.com, Thursday night. Also coming up on the site: unfiltered Kelly. “My website will be a place where you can expect the unexpected,” she says. “I am turning 30 this year and I feel it’s time to share my life in a way I have never done before: in a way that I control and is truly honest!” If that means more tips like the Spice Girls red carpet maneuver, consider us sold.
