Not many men can say they've nearly gone deaf from the sound of 900 women screaming for them.

When PEOPLE's Hottest Bachelor Joe Manganiello and his hunky costars Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey and Matt Bomer shot the first Magic Mike, they drove the 200 shrieking female extras on set wild with their steamy stripteases.

But that was nothing compared to shooting the much-awaited sequel, Magic Mike XXL . "This time, there were 900 during our dance scene, so it was a bigger rush," Manganiello told PEOPLE Thursday at the launch of the MB Chronowing smartwatch at Soho House West Hollywood. "The sound of 900 screaming women is literally deafening. My ears were ringing for days after I did my final routine."

All the bumping, grinding and gyrating required for those temperature-raising routines now comes naturally to Manganiello, 37, who admits he's got the dancing thing down. "It's not big deal anymore," he says. "It's old hat at this point."

Tatum and Bomer are returning for the new movie, joined by newcomers Elizabeth Banks, Amber Heard, Jada Pinkett Smith and Michael Strahan – who will play a stripper in Magic Mike's crew.

When the film wrapped in Savannah, Georgia, in early November, Manganiello was finally able to indulge in some of the foods that were off limits during shooting before heading home to his girlfriend, Sofia Vergara.

"I eat like a normal human being when I'm not training," he says. "We were in the South. So there's chicken pot pies and fried chicken and you know, sweet potato soufflé, all of that good fun stuff."

Magic Mike XXL hits theaters in July 2015.
