Taylor Swift Pays a Surprise Visit to a Superfan in Connecticut

Stephanie Barnett's toddler son got a pint-size Mercedes as an early Christmas gift, but it wasn't the present that sent both mother and son into shock – it was the delivery person: Taylor Swift.

Barnett, a Swift superfan, was bowled over when Swift came knocking at her North Haven, Connecticut, home on Friday. "I open the door and she's like, 'Hey, Steph!' and it's just her right there and I lost it," said Barnett.

Though Swift, 24, has sent gifts to fans before, this unexpectedly personal touch drove Barnett to tears – happy ones, of course. "I was literally bawling on my couch, like, inconsolably, that she would do this for me and my son," Barnett told NBC Connecticut.

Barnett said Swift picked up the toys from FAO Schwarz, adding with a laugh, "The car was so big, she's like, 'I don't know how to ship it, so I thought I'd bring it over.' And I was, like, 'Who does that?' It's incredible."

Leyton, 2, was glued to Swift's side during her visit. The pair zoomed around in his new wheels, and the "Shake It Off" singer was snapped giving him a smooch with her famously "Red" lips.

The meet-up was years in the making after Swift and Barnett connected through social media. Swift's songs helped Barnett when she was having trouble conceiving and going through an emotionally tumultuous time.

Barnett praised the singer for her commitment and the power of her music. "She's unbelievable," she said. "The things she does for her fans, and she's a really amazing person. She's gotten a lot of people through so much more than anyone can imagine."

After a couple hours spent with Barnett and her family, Swift went into town for a coffee run that was quickly Tweeted as the Grammy winner gave more face time to fans at Starbucks. It seems a superstar's work is never done!
