Will Elle Macpherson Ever Cut Her Hair?

Elle Macpherson may be 50, but the supermodel doesn’t look (or feel) her age. And the Australian beauty insists healthy living is key to her energy.

Macpherson, nicknamed “the body,” spoke to PEOPLE Wednesday night at her cover party for Ocean Drive magazine at the new Stripsteak Miami restaurant in the Fontainebleau, where she shared the secret to her ageless look. “Most people say youth and beauty go together, but in my experience wellness and beauty go together,” she explained.

The model-turned-entrepreneur, who recently launched the health company WelleCo, skipped the bubbly in favor of the line’s new product — the green “super elixir,” sharing, “If I feel good, I look good.”

The star maintains that, “three liters of water and seven hours a sleep” a day are the most important health changes one can make. And having a good attitude helps too. “Smile! Laugh! Have Fun!”

Looking stunning in a black Herve Leger jacket, black dress, and towering gold Giuseppe Zanotti heels, the trendsetter also raved about her favorite vintage closet pieces.

“I’ve been blessed to work with some of the most talented designers, particularly in the 80’s, with Versace and Alaia, who are still so relevant today,” she said.

When it comes to fashion, though, the 6-foot bombshell is not about suffering for the cause.

“A long time ago I realized that one of the best ways to do black tie events is to wear a long dress and flip flops or flat shoes.” Her claims aren’t all talk, either — she specifically referenced the 2005 Met Ball where she wore a Narciso Rodriguez for Calvin Klein “acid green” dress and flip flops (gold, of course).

As for her swoon-worthy-envy-of-every-woman beach hair, Macpherson said he doesn’t have the guts to go short like so many stars today.

“I wish that I would have the courage to cut all my hair off and wear a pixie” she said, recalling a wig she wore (and loved) in French Vogue years ago. “Maybe I’ll just borrow a wig!”

What do you think of Macpherson’s healthy-living outlook? Should she ever cut her hair? Share your thoughts below.
