Dancing With the Stars judge Julianne Hough had just as much fun accessorizing her latest look with stylist Anita Patrickson as she did picking out the gorgeous white Pucci gown. Below, read on for more on how the team created such an elegant look (plus, see the adorable photo of her pups sleeping in the trailer!).

For her ninth week behind the judges’ desk, Hough chose a sleek Pucci gown, featuring a sexy front slit. “I adore Pucci and this dress is perfection,” Hough tells PEOPLE. “I love wearing white so that’s always a draw. The shape of this dress made me feel elegant and classy. We also had so much fun with the jewelry and beauty choices as the options were endless. In the end we choose to accent it with statement gold cuffs and an edgy mix of gold earrings.”
Patrickson says that the finding the accessories was a highlight this week. “The fun part was picking the chunky gold cuffs,” she shares. “They are such statement pieces and it’s fun to do that with Julianne as we tend to gravitate towards more delicate jewelry.”
She adds of the gown, “This look is all about clean elegant lines. Its a little Grecian and a nod to the minimalist trend we’ve been loving so much this season. Julianne loved it immediately. The neckline is so sleek and sophisticated and shows off her gorgeous arms.”

Hairstylist Riawna Capri also had a clear vision for Hough’s hair. “We wanted to recreate a similar look from the 2013 Golden Globes, a smooth fohawk with side texture,” she tells PEOPLE. But that new haircut made things a bit difficult. “Since we just cut her hair last week, the biggest challenge was getting all her little short neckline hairs to stay up and in place. She seriously has about 25 bobby pins in there and half a bottle of hairspray just to keep them up.”
On the beauty front, Hough’s makeup artist Spencer Barnes says the combination of the Grecian-esque white dress and gold cuffs helped inspire her look. “I wanted to keep her skin warm and bronzy, with copper and gold shimmering hues on her eyes. I relied on Kevyn Aucoin’s ‘The Loose Shimmer Shadow’ to help me achieve this look. She felt radiant and elegant.”
If you want to try something similar at home, Barnes encourages you to whip out the bronzer. “It isn’t just for summer,” he explains. “Don’t be afraid to wake up the skin and add subtle dimension to the face. Using shimmering metallics on the eyes with a mono-chromatic pallet allows the interplay of sheen and luster to create restrained drama.”
The best part of getting ready together (aside from her adorable dogs Lexi and Harley being on set)? “Julianne kept us entertained as she belted out ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’ from Grease,” Barnes shares. Adds Capri, “Julianne craziness is the best. She gets in these awesome funny weird moods and keeps us all laughing for hours.”
