There were smiles all around as Nina Pham finally reunited with her beloved dog Bentley.

The Dallas nurse contracted the Ebola virus while treating victim Thomas Eric Duncan, who died of the deadly disease on Oct. 8.

While she was flown to the National Institute of Health's hospital in Bethesda, Maryland for treatment, the world wondered what would become of Bentley, her 1-year-old King Charles Cavalier Spaniel, especially after authorities in Spain euthanized the dog of a nurse diagnosed with Ebola.

But health officials in Dallas simply took Bentley to an undisclosed location, where he remained in isolation for the virus's 21-day incubation period. He was tested for Ebola three times and tested negative every time, according to CNN.

The three-week period was up on Saturday, and Pham, who returned to Dallas on Oct. 24, was finally able to take Bentley home with her.

Needless to say, the pup was thrilled to see Pham, 26.

"It's been a tough month," the nurse told reporters after the reunion Saturday morning.

"I feel like Bentley reentering my life is another reminder of hope and encouragement for me moving forward and fulfilling my life to the fullest with my best friend by my side again," Pham added.
